Eeeewwww, Gross!

I have a friend who found a spider in her van on her way home from Michigan and I guess it was huge and scary. My story isn't quite as fun, but here was my experience today:

We were on the way home from picking up Jacob and Kyle from school. We were about halfway home when I looked in my rearview mirror and saw.....a spider crawling on the mirror. The spider was probably only the size of a dime, but it was black and hairy with a small orange spot on it. I tried to ignore it, but at the same time I didn't want to lose sight of it. In no way did I want that spider anywhere near me!

As I'm driving, I am watching it slowly move down my mirror. Then it drops from a thread down to my dashboard. By this time I have alerted the kids that the spider is there and Jacob and Kyle can see it. They sit all the way in the back of the van, if that gives you an idea of how thick and black it was. This spider was definitely not all legs.

As it's moving across the dashboard, I suddenly decide that I cannot just let it alone any longer. However, I have two reasons for not being able to kill it. One, it is too thick and I can't stand the idea of all lof its guts rushing out. Two, the last time Kris killed a spider, I thought Kyle was going to cry. He actually asked, "Where do you think it's mommy is?" So anyway, I found a happy meal bag, quickly dumped out the toys and scooped up the spider.

By now we were almost home and I just kept shaking the bag to make sure that the spider did not crawl up and out. Once we got home, I dumped the spider out in the grass (I mean snow). I am pretty sure that this spider was not going to make it, but at least I could say to my son that I set the spider free.

Needless to say, I'm pretty sure that I was a driving hazzard on the way home today.

OH you are so brave...the spider would have been on his way to see Jesus if he gets in my van! Good for you!
